ABOUT
I am a Lecturer in the Philosophy Department at Columbia University. My research focuses on the social and political philosophy of the group of thinkers known as the French Nietzscheans, especially Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, and Georges Bataille. My work reconstructs and defends the innovative approach to critical theory that is elaborated in this French Nietzschean tradition—an approach, I argue, that is founded on a commitment to “Nietzschean functionalism” in social philosophy and “Nietzschean agonism” in political philosophy. I also have interests in existentialism and the philosophy of art.
